Kristin’s Indian Rocks Beach Graduation

“Wait a minute, how early do you want me to get up?” Kristin said skeptically when I told her my plan. The sun peaks above the horizon at 6:59 a.m. (according to google), which means we had to be out on Indian Rocks Beach at 6:45. Even pitching the plan to her, I knew it was a long shot to get her to agree. Kristin’s idea of waking up early is any time before 10:00. I will admit, when the alarm clock went off at 6:25, I was regretting my decision. Luckily, it doesn’t take much for her to get herself ready in the morning.

When Kristin and I met in the seventh grade, I never thought we would be lifelong friends. In fact, I didn’t even think we would be friends in the next school year. If we hadn’t lived in the same neighborhood, we may have never met in the first place. Even when middle school ended, and we found ourselves going to different high schools, the friendship seemed doomed. Yet, here we are! Kristin was my maid of honor at my wedding, and has come to be friends with Sam along the way. Sometimes I think that she likes Sam more than she likes me!

Kristin, I’m so glad that your college experience at The University of Florida was so good to you, and for four years you pushed harder than ever before. You have struggled and cried and fought for this degree, and you deserve it. You did it. All by yourself. You graduated with your bachelors in animal sciences with a minor in innovation. Hold your head high and scream it to the world. Sam and I are proud to know you and be friends with you.

Next time we go to Indian Rocks Beach though, lets go for sunset instead.
