Romantic Beach Engagement Photos at Johns Pass Park

Dark clouds looming overhead. Angry thunder booming in the sky. The weather radar says the rain will be heavy, and won’t stop until 30 minutes before sunset. Not ideal circumstances for beach engagement photos! While Sam and I are working on a rain plan, Katie texts us with an update.

“My windshield wiper just fell off!!!”

Katie and David’s Beach Engagement Session was anything but typical, but that’s what we love about it! Something must have been looking out for us, because as soon as Katie and David arrived, the rain moved further south to avoid us! We managed to avoid the dark gloomy clouds, and near the end of the session, even the sun decided to turn up for us. However, Looking at their gallery, you really would never know just how bad the weather was right before we started! I hope our bad luck with gloomy engagement sessions ends here, because Marie and Levi had an overcast engagement session too!

When we were picking spots for Katie and David’s Photos, they had mentioned that they love little beach towns, and that they are always going to the beach! Of course, we love the beach, and I am always down for anything beach related. After some research on the best spots for beach engagement photos, I found nothing. I started moving all the way up and down the coast on google maps, until I found this little park that has access to John’s Pass AND the beach! Perfect! I must say, John’s Pass Park really surprised me with the variety and how quiet it was! We practically had the whole beach to ourselves, which is what gives the photos that romantic, private feel. This park reminds me of Cypress Point Park, where we have done two sessions now, but I think this is going to be my new favorite spot!

Katie and Kelsey – Friends since 2010

I have known Katie since 2010, when we were starting 6th grade. She was the only other person at my bus stop who was in my grade and wasn’t an asshole! I had just moved, and didn’t know anyone who was going to Burns Middle School. We quickly made friends and walked to each other’s house nearly every day. She introduced me to Kristin, and the three of us became inseparable! We shared all of our middle school life together. We sold lemonade at yard sales, swam all summer, had sleepover’s, and won thousands of tickets at Chuck-e-cheese!

With life being what it is, we don’t get the chance to see each other very often anymore. When Katie asked me if I would do the photos for her wedding, it was an immediate yes! I was so excited to meet David and see Katie again! Now, after our session, I know that they are perfect for each other. They compliment each other perfectly, and I know that they will make a dream husband and wife team! They are so sweet to each other their love for each other is unmistakable.

If 11 year old Kelsey and Katie could see us now, they would be jumping for joy at the lives we have created.
